We are looking for Water Safety Instructors to start in February for the upcoming season.

About 321 Swim Academy:

321 Swim Academywas started right here in Brevard County. We are an American Red Cross (ARC) Licensed Training Provider, and all of our swim instructors are required to be ARC Certified Water Safety Instructors as well! We are also members of the National Drowning Prevention Alliance. Currently we offer private and semi-private lessons at people’s home or community pools. We treat all of our students and family members like family, and we enjoy going the extra mile to make all of our student and parents feel welcomed and valued.

321 Swim Academy is a new and fast-growing woman-owned business, and we are looking for flexible, reliable staff who are willing to go the extra mile to see 321 Swim succeed and prosper. We are in the process of expanding in the county and we need diligent, hard-working staff who want to be a part of something big.

We also take pride in working with the community and promoting a positive attitude towards nature. We believe that it is important to teach the next generation to value nature and thereby, inspire a passion to preserve and improve the natural world through a love of swimming and watersports.

We also value our military and first responders by providing special promotions and discounts. We are launching a new project where we will be taking donations to give back free swim lessons to families in need. We also are working with local non-profit organizations to partner for beach cleanups, recycling and education opportunities.

Job Overview:

321 Swim Academy’s Water Safety Instructors will be teaching students of all ages, starting as early as 6 months. Our lesson plans are designed based off of the American Red Cross water safety teachings and manuals. You will be driving to and from people’s home or community pool to teach private and semi-private swim lessons. You will need to have a reliable vehicle to get to and from the lessons. You will be reimbursed for gas mileage based on the national mileage requirement of $0.50/mile. Lesson plans are created by 321 Swim and will need to be adjusted slightly for each child as needed. These will need to be cataloged and submitted to your supervisor each week for review.

Instructors will be given a google voice phone number that can be used on your smartphone through an app. This will allow you to keep your business and personal calls separated. This number will be how you contact your clients about lessons and reschedules if necessary.

The job will mostly involve teaching swim lessons, but some of the time you will be required to work from your home computer or laptop. Among other things, you will be required to submit information and progress to our online portal as well as submitting attendance and absences, missed or makeup classes, etc. There will be opportunities for extra hours assisting with office administration and scheduling.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Driving around the county to various location to provide swim lessons.
  • Arrive on time for all lessons.
  • Have a positive attitude.
  • Teach lessons as designed by 321 Swim Academy.
  • Report classes, lesson plans and attendance through our online portal daily.
  • Teach Water Safety Topics required for each class at the beginning of every lesson.
  • Track classes and report them on the ARC WSI website.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings on occasion.
  • Keep track of all clients, schedules and lesson plans.
  • Track mileage and hours.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED. Exceptions for candidates over the age of 16 who are currently enrolled in school or a GED program.
  • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors Certification- must be current and active
  • CPR Certified-must be current and active
  • Have a reliable working vehicle
  • A reliable and active phone number/cell phone
  • Access to reliable internet and a computer or laptop
  • Willing to work with children and adults with disabilities or special needs
  • Have a positive attitude
  • Work well with others
  • Travel throughout the county for swim lessons

Upon hire, 321 Swim Academy can pay the cost for the ARC Water Safety Instructor certification provided that you work for 321 Swim Academy for a minimum of 500 hours. We will withhold the cost of the certification or renewal from your first paycheck. Upon completion of 500 hours of work with 321 Swim Academy, we will reimburse the money back to you.

Pay:

  • $16-$20 per hour
  • You will be reimbursed for gas mileage based on the national mileage requirement of $0.50/mile
